wireless mesh network
The network is self-configuring. All devices can transmit from their original position, and they don?t have to be moved. A weak signal or dead zone can be fixed simply by dropping a repeater node into place. The network error rate is low and can be further reduced if occasional re-transmits are allowed. Industrial systems can now benefit from a wireless format that satisfies the multiple conflicting demands of redundancy, distributed communications, flexibility, and reliability. Ideal for asset security, perimeter security, environmental safety, homeland security and other building sensing and control applications, these wireless sensor networks can be inexpensively and rapidly deployed, as there are absolutely no data wiring costs associated with the platform.
wireless mesh networks

The major difference with a Mesh network is that only a single node must be connected to the wired network or broadband connection. Each node on the network acts as a relay station, forwarding a user's data to the best neighbour, and the next neighbour and so on until it reaches the wired network. The best neighbour is determined as an intelligent combination of the strongest signal and shortest distance in ping time to the Gateway - the wired network connection. Sensicast’s SensiNet™ platform is the quickest and easiest way to develop and deploy wireless sensor networks. OEMs and integrators can now wirelessly connect sensors, actuators or controllers into a mesh network with little or no effort.
