Superior Three-Way Filtration: Mechanical, Chemical, and Biological Quiet, self-starting filter delivers quiet and dependable three-way filtration. Bio-Bag Cartridge and Bio-Foam eliminate toxic ammonia and nitrites, and filters out harmful debris and chemicals while providing the perfect environment for the growth of beneficial aerobic bacteria. Mechanical Filtration The Bio-Bag Filter Cartridge is made of a thick, high quality floss which traps debris. Chemical Filtration The Bio-Bag is filled with Ultra-activated Carbon which removes dissolved contaminants, noxious odors and discoloration, as well as hundreds of other chemicals such as chlorine, insecticides, and detergents. Biological Filtration The Bio-Foam cultivates aerobic bacteria for optimal biological filtration. Foam has an intricate, three-dimensional structure which provides an excellent attachment site for aerobic bacteria. By separating the mechanical and biological filtering components, the Whisper allows you to change the Bio-Bag without losing the aerobic bacteria base that has been established on the Bio-Foam. Easy to maintain, never needs oiling. Includes free Bio-Bag, Bio-Foam, and Aqua Safe Water Conditioner. 115 volts, 60Hz. UL listed.

The Millennium wet/dry aquarium multi-filters combine mechanical, chemical, and wet/dry biological filtration functions in an innovative and efficient tank mounted external filter unit. The unique BioGrid plate provides a high surface area of biological filtration that is separate from the MechaniChem filtration cartridge. In this way, biological filter functions are preserved when the MechaniChem cartridge is replaced. A venturi air valve mixes oxygen with filtered water to improve gas exchange.
